DIFFICULTY:

TIPS:keep your helmet always on and enjoy

The Marocche area is an enormous scale of large calcareous rocks near the Sarca River. To reach this out-of-this-world place we have to pass at the foot of the imposing rocky wall on top of which sits Arco Castle, get in proximity of a Roman bridge and cross a pinewood that leads us to Lake Bagatoli, all this under the never ending rocky backdrop of Mount Brento.
Here nature’s “verticality” makes us so small! After crossing the busy main road we are back in a natural setting on the Sarca River’s left bank at the Fies power station: an electricity factory that looks like the entrance to the realm of fables. We now follow the river downstream (it flows then into Lake Garda) and on our left we have the Marocche.
