We leave the shores of Lake Garda and head north, following the Sarca River upstream. We pass beneath Arco Castle and Drena Castle before entering the magical Marocche pinewood, a green tunnel we will leave only in Pietramurata. Here we will start coasting the vineyards that run uninterrupted all the way up to Sarche. Mankind’s work in the fields is nothing if compared to nature’s own work: over the millennia a real rock cathedral has been carved out by the river in the Limarò Valley. We run through it up to Ponte Arche.
We now head back to Lake Garda, and start by riding along the maize fields of Lomaso. We then go up to Ballino Pass only to descend to Tenno Lake, finally reaching Lake Garda.
This is a tour for those who love long distances without too much difference in altitude.
